In depth

Verdict

Prince Hamlet has improved with each start this season, narrowly going down to Always A Rock over course and distance last time, and with first time blinkers now fitted he is taken to go one better today and gets the vote over Atabaas Pride and Baron's Court. The last mentioned opened his account at the third time of asking when landing a Kempton maiden when last seen in January and has to be of interest on his debut in a handicap but Mark Johnston's colt may be a shade high in the weights. Mick Channon's Leading Edge could probably do with some help from the handicapper, while Casino Night has struggled in three starts since winning a Beverley handicap a month ago. Atabaas Pride looks to have the more solid claims of the two Mark Johnston runners in the line up and he should be thereabouts again but preference is for Prince Hamlet.
