Unlike most of these, Grit has been running well of late but a 3lb rise for his latest effort when a well beaten third at Hamilton looks harsh for Mick Channon's gelding and he may be best left out of calculations in a moderate race where it may be worth taking a chance on the fitness of Howards Hope, who gets the vote over Tamasou. The last mentioned has run creditably in his last three starts and he should appreciate the drop back in trip having seemingly not stayed 1m2f at Goodwood last time. Flying Sommelier is less exposed than most of these after just five starts but needs to improve to trouble the judge, while Roundthetwist is not certain to be suited the drop back in trip. Casino Night has been running creditably and is worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Howards Hope. Linda Perratt has done well this season so lack of a recent run need not be of concern and this gelding is relatively unexposed after just five starts so may be worth chancing on his reappearance.
