    Verdict

Professor Plum was engaged in the bumper at Ayr yesterday so whether he turns up here is debatable. Gingili followed his victory in an Irish point by making a successful debut for Donald McCain on this track in November while It Is I only just failed against the well-supported Native Display on Polytrack at Lingfield. VIRNON followed his victories at Carlisle and Newcastle with a decent effort in a Listed contest at Cheltenham, where he would have finished much closer but for meeting interference. He can return to winning ways though Crockett, a surprise winner over 1m4f at Wetherby, could be anything.
