Verdict
DAR ES SALAAM is selected to win the finale for the Jim Goldie yard which holds such a good record at this venue. The selection has posted two excellent efforts on his latest starts, culminating in a good win in an ultra-competitive Newbury handicap last time. Stepping back up to 1m 4f should prove no problem. Grandad Bill, stable companion of the selection, and Chookie Hamilton are others of real note. Grandad Bill has climbed back up the weights but continues to post solid efforts while Chookie Hamilton has stamina in abundance but might just be vulnerable to one with a turn of foot in the closing stages. Timocracy was taken on for the lead last time which resulted in him going faster than ideal and that eventually did tell in the latter stages of the race, while Packers Hill could reward those looking for value.
