Verdict

MAE'S CHOICE built on pleasing efforts in the point-to-point arena when making a winning hurdling debut at Downpatrick for Gordon Elliott. The yard is renowned for its raids over the water and the mare is just preferred, although it should be noted that this is her first experience of quicker ground. Nevertheless, she looked one to follow at Downpatrick and can account for Glenora Gale. The latter has perhaps not lived up to expectations the last twice but she probably did not relish the testing conditions. Her best form has come on good ground and she should be much more at home on the predicted conditions here. Latest Fashion and Sands of Vatersay look next best but have much to do to trouble the front pair.
