In depth

Verdict

CALZAGHE has been kept very busy of late and although he has more on his plate today, we will put him forward to get the better of Sea Cove and Haka Dancer. A 14lb rise in the weights will make life tough for Calzaghe but he won with plenty in hand at Kempton last time and he does have the talented 7lb claimer Giles Hawkins doing the steering once again today. This will not be a walk in the park, but he might just have enough in hand to win again. Sea Cove ran well at Carlisle last month but she ran no sort of race at Market Rasen last time. The drop in trip will help her here and if she can bounce back from that disappointment last time she could give our selection a race. Haka Dancer has only managed one win over hurdles so far but he ran his best race for a while from out of the handicap over this course and distance last week and if he can build on that he would have a big chance. Jim Goldie does well with his runners here so Grand Diamond is worth a look, but he was well beaten in a selling hurdle at Kelso last time and he is hard to fancy off the back of that run. This looks a good opportunity for Calzaghe to continue his hot streak.
