In depth

Verdict

Quarry Island, Nobel and I Got Rhythm are the three to consider here and with question marks about a number of the contenders, Quarry Island can spring a surprise. Keith Reveley sends I Got Rhythm on the journey North and the grey mare is consistent and looks set to run well. She ran on the Flat this summer, winning at Nottingham in May, but has not been seen out since June. She may just need this run after such an absence. Nicky Richards' Nobel is not one of the yard's top runners and is another grey. He is still a maiden and although finishing third in an amateur riders' race at Market Rasen, that form has been let down and he is overlooked. Quarry Island though is an interesting contender with Graham Lee booked. He shaped well on his first run for six months at Catterick, only fading after the second last. The last time Lee rode the filly she was well backed at Hexham in April and was beaten only a head. She will be fitter for that run at catterick and Quarry Island is taken to come out on top.
