In depth

Verdict

Feelin' Groovy had the much better fancied Major Fawcett 3l behind when both were well beaten at Gowran. That didn't look the best of races and there are some well-connected newcomers engaged. Balliniska Band is a half-brother to two winning point-to-pointers so stamina won't be an issue and the market should tell us more. Eagle Roque is the first foal of a mare placed on the Flat but from a smart jumping family in France. Patrick Mullins takes the ride and Paul Nolan's charge is one to note. MAGISTRALIS has a similar pedigree though his dam won on the Flat in France and is related to several very useful types so Liz Doyle's charge is handed the vote. Polished Steel is another with a decent pedigree for jumping and his stable has been in good form so a big run is expected.
