In depth

Verdict

Killer Mode sets the standard of those with experience on his second to the odds-on Itswhatunitesus at Navan though the winner's yard will be expecting a much better run from Nonbinding, who started favourite at Punchestown in April but coughed post-race. Derek O'Connor is on board The Road To Fame, as he was when last seen at Punchestown two years ago when runner-up to subsequent dual hurdles winner Aione. The winner's yard is represented by the potentially-useful SIR ARGUS, a half-brother to the very smart bumper winner and jumper Brahma Bull and other winners and out of a winning bumper. Walter Grey was a 100/1 chance on his debut here in February but belied his odds with a cracking effort behind the unbeaten and odds-on Gerri Colombe.
