Verdict

Bright New Dawn landed a Grade 3 novices' event here in March 2014 but didn't win again until earlier this month when beating two rivals at Clonmel. His overall form, particularly when narrowly beaten by Felix Yonger at Navan in December, entitles him to the greatest respect. Days Hotel won this in 2013 and a year later and though behind Bright New Dawn at Navan wasn't beaten far and is no forlorn hope to get back on the winning trail. SIMPLY NED (NAP) has won just four times from 16 starts over fences but invariably races at a high level. He was behind Twinlight in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown just over a year ago but with an 8lb pull in the weights can make his long journey pay dividends.
