Verdict

Giant Redwood, a close relative of the Derby winner Pour Moi, makes a belated racecourse debut and wouldn't be racing over two miles here unless something had gone amiss. He has no future entries and the market should provide a clue to his chances. Swamp Fox has been running well enough over shorter trips on soft ground and his pedigree suggests he will be happy over this distance unlike Deontas, who is by Teofilo out of a winning miler. However, the latter did well when tackling 1m5f on fast going at Leopardstown in July so has to be on the short-list. Dual bumper winner Ebazziyr has run his best races on softer ground than he's likely to face here but would have a chance if the rain arrives though in the hope of good going PRICKLY, who won over hurdles at Kilbeggan in August and has won three bumpers, looks the one to be on.
