Alphabet had little chance behind Battaash at Chantilly but her earlier placed efforts at Group level put her in the frame for this. Her stable companion COUGAR MOUNTAIN has been a little bit below par recently and doesn't win as often as he should but he's competed at a very high level for a long time and this step-down in grade can see him back in the winner's enclosure. Gordon Lord Byron is still capable at this level though a Group 2 penalty gives him plenty to do so the main threat may come from Son Of Rest. Jonjo Stack's charge would be happier on very testing ground as it was when a close third to Caravaggio at the Curragh last time and any more rain would see him go close.
