Verdict
LITTLE CLARINET has only won once this season but has run some excellent races in defeat including when beaten a neck in a big field here in April. She's only 4lb higher than when scoring at the Curragh and can go in again. Strong Johnson gave notice of an imminent victory when beaten a short-head in a Down Royal maiden and duly obliged over this track and trip. He makes his handicap debut and has to give weight to seasoned handicappers including seven-times winner Shore Step, beaten just a neck at Laytown last month. Tide Of Time, a winner at Down Royal in June, has performed with credit in better company and has to be on the shortlist while Amanaat and Sors are both capable of big runs in a tricky handicap.
