Verdict

Nina Carberry was on board when her father's Josephine Marcus made a successful debut at Wexford in April so it's a surprise to see her booked for the newcomer Bonny Kate is this very competitive bumper. Presenting Mahler just held off Side Saddle at Limerick a couple of weeks ago but the runner-up should turn the tables at the revised weights. Star Counsel and Emcon have both gained surprise victories and can improve further but they will need to against the two penalised double winners. LYRICAL THEATRE won very easily at Sligo and Naas and though beaten in between at Galway came up against a pair of useful performers who have won subsequently so he looks the one to be on. Twentytwo's Taken looked a very smart prospect when scoring at Down Royal and Fairyhouse and it's only the lack of a recent run that hands the vote to the Willie Mullins-trained mare.
