In depth

Verdict

Knock On Steel has definitely improved with experience and looks certain to be thereabouts again. Gordon Elliott saddles three and it could be the time for TIMIYAN (NAP) to finally show his true form. First past the post but disqualified in a tough Kilbeggan handicap last summer, he raced in all the big handicaps over fences later and was returning from a very long break when well beaten in that same race at Kilbeggan in July. Fred The Foot wasn't beaten far on his chasing bow at Wexford before winning won over hurdles at Limerick while Monstrosity is quickly sent over fences after an impressive maiden hurdle victory at Ballinrobe. The selection's stable companion Kuiper Belt and Noel Meade's The Caddy Rose are interesting recruits to fences while Lever Du Soleil, who won four times on the Flat during the summer, will be better for his chasing debut at Galway.
