In depth

Verdict

Good Gorsoon is on the upgrade and can account for Nawaaff, Gross Prophet, Hobson and Ramatni. This appears to be a quite competitive nursery, but Good Gorsoon is definitely going the right way judged on his defeat of a 73-rated rival at Bath a fortnight ago. Jamie Spencer rode him to a very comfortable victory that day, but Michael Hills takes over now, with Spencer riding River Bounty for Alan Jarvis. Good Gorsoon has joint topweight along with Nawaaff who finally managed to get his head in front when making all at Thirsk last month. That was no more than he deserved after chasing home the useful Gothenburg at Ayr the time before, and he should be prominent for a long way. All-weather winner Gross Prophet has plenty of experience, as does Hobson, although both need to raise their game, while Blues Minor has not been risked on ground this fast yet, but could be well treated after his costly Newmarket defeat. For the winner though we return to Good Gorsoon.
