FULGUR has posted a couple of encouraging efforts and, as he is a likely candidate to set a good tempo, the High Chaparral colt will be very hard to get past if he is allowed an easy lead. Circus Star already has a bit to prove and a leap of faith is required if supporting the Brian Meehan-trained youngster. He was getting the hang of things near the finish when introduced at Newbury last month but, as he was seven lengths adrift of the selection, he obviously needs to have studiously improved in the 20 days since he made his debut. Novel Dancer also raced at that same meeting and is another long-term prospect. A stiffer test of stamina will suit The Queen's colt next year. But as today's chosen mount of Richard Hughes, it's safe to assume he holds precedence over My Vindication and Omnipotent in the eyes of trainer his trainer, Richard Hannon. Mijhaar is out of a respected mare and is another to monitor for future reference. However, they will all have to go some to get the better of Fulgur if he holds enough in reserve for a final furlong push.
