        Verdict

Dominant was hampered at crucial stage on his seasonal reappearance at Sandown so did well to claim second place behind Chain Lightning. He looks sure to make a bold bid along with Labarinto, who finished fourth on his handicap debut at Newmarket. Al Kazeem won his maiden here and shaped well on his return over C&D last month, but was well beaten on his debut at this track in October by FULGUR. Luca Cumani's charge ran too fresh on his comeback in the Feilden at HQ and today's combination of being upped in trip and dropped in class could prove a winning one. Loving Spirit is better than his run in the 2000 Guineas indicates and General Synod is not easily dismissed.
