Verdict

Gavi Di Gavi is 0-8 on Turf but has won seven times on the all-weather. MRS MEADER (NAP) won twice here last season under Ross Birkett, including this race. Though 11lb higher, Julia Feilden’s mare has been steadily coming to hand again so a repeat may be on the cards. King's Castle has been hurdling and also won an amateurs’ race over track and trip around this time last year while the in-form Mabre wouldn’t be far away if lasting home. Dark Island and Serena Brotherton’s mount Point Louise are other possibilities but Tele Red is getting no help from the handicapper.
