        Verdict

The lightly raced Aqlaam showed improved form last season when following up his maiden race success with victory in the Jersey Stakes on his only other outing and the William Haggas-trained colt has to be strongly considered on his reappearance in this Group 1 contest but it is hard to get away from PACO BOY, who gets the vote over Alexandros. Godolphin's colt showed improved form in Dubai during the winter and he would have every chance if able to translate that improvement back in the UK. Pressing, a Group 1 winner in Italy, has run to a decent level of form here as well including when a fair fourth behind Duke Of Marmalade in the Prince Of Wales's last season. He has more solid claims than Henry Cecil's Twice Over, who chased home New Approach in the Champion Stakes last term but was very disappointing on his reappearance and now looks best watched. Andrew Balding's Dream Eater has three-quarters-of-a-length to find with Paco Boy on their running in the Group 2 bet365 Mile at Sandown last month but Richard Hannon's colt was good value for that success and he can claim his second Group 1 success today.
