Verdict

Cadillac ran an excellent first race for new connections when runner-up in the Wolverton at the Royal Meeting and it will be interesting to see how he's campaigned by the De Foy yard. A winner at Group 2 level, he really should go very close in Listed grade. However, GROCER JACK rates a lively opponent, having performed with credit in Group 2/3 company on both starts since joining William Haggas. He's not been beaten at all far on either occasion, the drop back to 1m2f seems wise and he also descends into Listed grade. Tasman Bay finished well behind Cadillac on his seasonal reappearance and it's hard to see the tables being turned here. Desert Encounter is likely to need this first start for 259 days at the age of ten and Finest Sound needs to out a tailed-off effort last time behind him.
