In depth
Verdict
A fascinating maiden with several well bred fillies making their debuts; Dance Solo and Dream Scene look the pick, with the former just preferred, while Saffron Fox looks best of those with racecourse experience. The latter was noted staying on nicely when fourth in a Goodwood maiden on her debut three weeks ago, and the second horse, Noyac, has won a Newmarket maiden since. John Portman's filly handles fast ground and is open to plenty of improvement. Abington Angel showed up prominently when a close third in a Newmarket maiden on her debut seven weeks ago. Brian Meehan's filly cost 160,000 guineas as a yearling and is related to a couple of winners. She should come on for that debut and appreciate this step up to seven furlongs, while Frankie Dettori is an interesting jockey booking. One to catch the eye on breeding is John Gosden's Dream Scene, but we're going to take something of a stab in the dark and side with Dance Solo. This well-bred newcomer is related to several winners, including a couple of juvenile scorers, and hails from the powerful Stoute stable so any market support would be very encouraging.
