Verdict
An intriguing conditions event for juveniles and SOUTER POINT is given the vote to land it after finishing second in what looked a very good maiden at Sandown won by Godolphin's Anmer who despite being beaten in listed company subsequently, does look a smart colt. Held-up out the back, Souter Point could never get on terms with the winner who did get the run of the race but under tender handling filled the runner-up spot. Hailing from the Roger Charlton yard who's juveniles do tend to benefit for an outing, Souter Point can be expected to go very close. Palavicini went into many a notebook when flashing home to finish second behind the smart Delegator on debut. John Dunlop's juvenile holds many big race entries and it was evident that he did not know what was required until late on when he really motored home. He did attract cash before his debut and looks the biggest danger to Souter Point. The penalised winners in the race face a tough task having landed what appeared weaker maidens to those contested by the previously mentioned pair. Aahaykid made light work of a moderate field at Warwick last time, in what were testing conditions while Full Toss looks the pick of the Hannon pair. Taameer holds some big race entries and is worth keeping a close eye on for future reference but Souter Point is given the nomination.
