Afaak was runner-up in the Cambridgeshire consolation race at Newmarket in September behind subsequent Lincoln winner Addeybb. Hugo Palmer’s progressive charge was beaten only a neck on that occasion and should make another bold bid. Gabrial finished in front of Repercussion, Leader Writer and Ballard Down when fourth in last month’s Lincoln while Born To Be Alive ran well in the Doncaster Mile at the same meeting.
