In depth

Verdict

Chocolate Caramel, Moonshine Beach and Colloquial are the three to study here, and Amanda Perrett¿s consistent Chocolate Caramel can lead them home. Moonshine beach has been given a five week break since running at Warwick where he faded in the closing stages. He had earlier run a good second over that track and his previous success came in similar ground conditions to today. He will be thereabouts. Henry Candy¿s runners always seem to prefer some give in the ground but that doesn¿t seem to be the case with Colloquial. He ran disappointingly on easier ground but bolted up at Salisbury last time when the ground was fast. With doubt about his ability to act on the surface he is passed over. One runner who will like the ground however is Chocolate caramel. Amanda Perrett¿s runner won well at Leicester in May in similar ground and has run well on both occasions since when encountering easy ground, including a staying on second over a mile and three quarters at Headquarters last time. He looks set to appreciate the step up in trip-he was staying on well at the finish last time, and Chocolate Caramel can prove a tasty selection.
