In depth

Verdict

The Luca Cumani pair Kirthill and NAQSHABBAN take each other on once again after competing in a hot handicap over C&D last month. The former never saw daylight and Kieren Fallon sticks with him here, but the latter finally fulfilled his early promise with a terrific run in second and chances are we haven't seen the best of him yet. Nanton has claims back in handicap company after a good effort in a Group 3 at Ascot and last year's progressive three-year-old Willing Foe could figure on his seasonal debut. This is tougher than the race Oceanway won at York recently and recent 1m winner Vainglory has yet to score over today's trip, while Pivotman and Danderek arrive on the back of victories but both are 10lb higher in the weights today.
