Verdict

Marshal Dan finished in front of Ragstone View when winning last year’s renewal but ran below par last time. The latter is preferred on this occasion having won an amateurs' race here a fortnight ago while Gambon opened his account when landing a maiden at Leicester and makes his handicap debut today. MAJESTIC MAC (NAP) has been thereabouts in tougher contests than this and was beaten less than a length at Newmarket last month. The drop into this lower grade could see Hughie Morrison’s charge gets his head back in front and he gets the vote.
