In depth

Verdict

A trappy race. Cool Investment will need to be a good horse to conceed weight all round in this affair. Successful in a hot race at Warwick last Saturday, he did seem to handle cut in the ground over hurdles but that welter-burden is more than a little off-putting. Helvetius bombed on his sole start on heavy ground and he is readily opposed. Lord 'N' Master has an encouraging jockey booking but has yet to trouble the judge on this surface. Our selection is Sunshine Leader. Admittedly she produced a very moderate run at Folkestone but she had caught the eye on her chasing debut. Given that she was a fair handicapper on soft ground over hurdles, we'll keep faith with Ed James' charge. A watching brief is kept on Perk Alert. A fair hurdler over three miles, it is interesting that connections have chosen to persevere after such a long absence.
