In depth

Verdict

An awful race in which HURRICANE JACK is only a tentative pick ahead of Lord Gunnerslake and Mistral De La Cour. Last month's effort over course and distance was hardly anything to write home about but that at least represented an improvement and with the handicapper dropping him by 4lb, he might be well enough treated in a desperate race. Lord Gunnerslake appears to have it to do on the formbook though any switcher to Tim Vaughan's stable has to be noted. Mistral De La Cour is also set to race off the bottom weight. He is incredibly slow though should be capable of staging a clear round. Rexmehead was last seen when tried in a selling hurdle at Hexham in November. Days Of Claies was a novice of note though seems to have lost his way badly. Paddys Unyoke is better known as a hunter chaser. Not a race to linger too long over and Hurricane Jack is worth no more than a tentative selection under the circumstances.
