      Verdict

Cape Unknown has claims on the pick of his form but Gerard Butler's gelding has become expensive to follow in similar company to this and preference is for Chiselled, who gets the vote ahead of Yorke's Folly. The last mentioned is a long-standing maiden but seemingly showed improved form when chasing home Sir Sandrovitch in a course and distance handicap last month and, in a race as weak as this, has to be respected. The Barry Hills-trained Amira is probably less exposed than most of these and cannot be completely dismissed, while Beverley Beau can be given a chance on some of his form but has proven to be frustrating of late. Mystical Ayr is open to improvement after just two starts and is another to consider along with John Spearing's Montana but the vote goes to Karl Burke's Chiselled, who has shown enough in similar contests to suggest that he should be more than capable of beating his rivals today.
