In depth

Verdict

Not the strongest of novice hurdle races and we will give the vote to According To John, Musical Chord and Bramble Princess appear top be the main rivals. Nicky Richards has no problem getting a horse ready first time up and According To John showed enough in a point to point last season to suggest he can take a small race such as this. Musical Chord showed up well in a bumper in May, before getting well beaten on his hurdles debut. He is undoubtedly better than that form and could get into the frame today. Bramble Princess is a winning point to pointer and will appreciate the ground and trip. Tigger Too is a newcomer worth watching in the betting, but According To John will not have to be anything special over hurdles to win this and is taken to land the spoils.
