        Verdict

        CASTERBRIDGE went close again at Southwell recently having won over track and trip before that when beating subsequent winner Another Angel. Eric Alston’s charge is worth sticking with on the strength of that form. Wiff Waff was narrowly beaten here in November when finishing in front of Lord Of The Glen, Pea Shooter and Jan Van Hoof and he can figure but First Excel’s recent placed efforts have been on the Fibresand at Southwell. Laubali has a shout returning to the minimum trip and looks best of the rest.
