In depth

Verdict

Magical Spirit ran well when runner-up here in April and returned to make most over the trip in September for which he’s up 4lb. ASTRO JAKK (NAP) won first time out at Southwell in March so the lack of a run since just failing to concede 10lb to Nahaarr at Doncaster in May shouldn’t be a problem and he gets the nod. Reckless Endeavour was returning from a long break when a close second here last month so has to be respected and he should take care of third-placed John Kirkup. East Street Revue had dropped to a lowly mark when scoring at Thirsk and though he doesn’t have much experience on the all-weather he’s expected to be suited. Six Strings was unsuited by heavy going last time and is otherwise consistent at this level.
