        MEHMO not only escapes a penalty for winning an apprentices’ race at Southwell earlier in the week but today’s rider can utilise his 3lb allowance and Mick Appleby’s yard has hit top form. Zoom Star won at Catterick back in October with Stroxx behind while Nellie French placed at Wolverhampton when ahead of Mutabaahy. Kraken Power had every chance at Newcastle yesterday and would carry a penalty in this if successful.
