        Verdict

        Watersmeet beat Higher Power a length in a handicap over 2m at Kempton last month but the latter re-opposes on better terms in this conditions race. James Fanshawe's charge is fancied to reverse running having won the Northumberland Plate here in 2017 while Cosmelli returned the shock 33/1 winner of the consolation race for this year's Plate back in June but has struggled badly on Turf since. A winner over 1m4f at Newmarket last year, FESTIVAL OF AGES made a belated return to action over 1m2f in novice company at Kempton last month. But he's expected to last home given Charlie Appleby could have found easier opportunities than this for the unexposed Godolphin gelding and he gets the nod despite having something to find at the weights. Alfredo has done all his winning over 2m and further but in modest handicaps including at Kempton recently while Stargazer was narrowly beaten over track and trip in March and is preferred to Reshoun.
