        Verdict

        Twice-placed Longton is probably flattered by his form figures and may struggle to get the better of DREAM AND SEARCH, who has been competing in better company and is certain to appreciate the extra furlong. Archibald Thorburn made a promising start at Haydock and will improve for the experience while a market move for either Application or Outback Warrior would be worth noting, though the latter will probably not come into his own until tackling middle-distances.
