In depth
Verdict
Tim Easterby trained the winner of this 12 months ago and relies on Haydock sixth Buckshee this time around. Uncle Mick saddles Special Mix but there isn't a lot to choose between him and Regal Swain on Wetherby running. Cheating Tiger and Houseparty are interesting newcomers but fellow debutant BLADOUN may be more forward. David Pipe and Tom Scudamore are rare visitors to Gosforth Park but shouldn't leave empty-handed if the French-bred, who cost 36,000euros in the summer, proves to have inherited some of the ability of several useful close relations.
