Verdict
Senora Snoopy has a penalty to overcome, but can prove up to the task over Adlestrop, with Mrs O'Malley and Roman Gypsy worth a mention. Senora Snoopy finished a very promising sixth behind one of this season's top bumper performers Wichita Lineman at Newbury on her debut in November, and so it was no surprise at all when she duly opened her account at Towcester on Boxing Day. Although Newcastle does not present as stiff a challenge, she still makes most appeal despite a seven-pound penalty. On the same day that Ferdy Murphy's mare came good, Adlestrop made her seasonal reappearance at Huntingdon, coming home third in a fairly run-of-the- mill affair, and she will need to step up a gear here to trouble the selection. Mrs O'Malley was totally unfancied on her Ludlow debut in December but was a promising fifth ahead of some more fancied contenders, and with Graham Lee on board, can make a bid for the frame. Roman Gypsy is a full-sister to Roman Uproar and a half-sister to Roman Rampage, so should make up into a decent hurdler in time. Who knows, she may even be forward enough to take a hand here, but preference is very much for Senora Snoopy who has already shown us what she can do.
