Dark Ranger can follow up a recent success under a penalty and take this from Dean Iaracht and Sharp Sovereign. The last named ran well in a competitive Nottingham handicap last time and with the winner scoring again and the second also running well in defeat subsequently, the form looks solid. Sharp Sovereign won last month and can go close again. Dean Iarracht ran a sound race to be third last time but the fact that he is still a maiden in over twenty starts suggests you should look elsewhere. DARK RANGER can defy a 6lb penalty after landing his first Turf success last time. The form has been franked with the fourth going in subsequently and Dark Ranger looks capable of defying top weight here.
