        Fighting Spirit took advantage of a slide down the weights to record a narrow-margin success over track and trip and is 4lb higher today. Palazzo finished fourth here on his handicap debut while MELGATE MAJEURE was beaten a couple of lengths over today’s distance at Musselburgh. This looks less competitive and Mick Easterby’s charge may come out best. Cawthorne Lad drops down a grade and could get involved while Laoise went close in a seller at Leicester last month.
