Verdict

Geordie George ploughed through the Ripon mud to make a winning start three weeks ago and there's no reason why he shouldn't be just as effective on this completely different ground. Sea Wolf made a successful start on soft going at Doncaster but couldn't quite match the pace of Midterm Break and today's rival Vimy Ridge in a better race at Beverley. The latter has since performed well in a strong event at Musselburgh and looks certain to go well while the filly Just The Tip showed the benefit of her opening run to land a little race on the Scottish track. AKTABANTAY was beaten a short-head on his debut at Newmarket then returned to HQ for what looked an easy opportunity but was beaten by Dr No. The third has come out and won since so Hugo Palmer's Oasis Dream colt is taken to make it third time lucky.
