Verdict

DEREVO made a winning handicap debut with the minimum of fuss when making all over 1m2f at Pontefract. This longer trip looks well within his compass on that evidence and Sir Michael Stoute’s colt can defy a rise in the weights. Finniston Farm struggled in a higher grade last time but had won at Haydock before that. He steps back up in trip along with Chelmsford runner-up Lexington Empire but Claire Underwood went close the last time she raced over track and trip back in February
