In depth

Verdict

Only four runners but three with great chances including Simply St. Lucia, Thunderwing and Skidow with the vote going to the last named. The Bell stable have been in great form of late and Skidow can add to that strike rate. A winner at Newcastle over seven furlongs on his penultimate start when getting the better of the favourite Bee Stinger by an easy four lengths, he can be forgiven his defeat at Chester last time out as he was forced wide off the home turn and just failed to get up in the closing stages of the race. On a more galloping track like todays he will take all the beating. Karl Burke has been having winners of late and trains Thunderwing who improved from his debut run to win well at Thirsk last time out and with further improvement can worry the selection. Simply St. Lucia is another with a live chance. He won nicely on his debut at Southwell and was not disgraced at all in a Class C race at Sandown last time out. This is a drop back in grade so is sure to run well. But for the winner we will side with Skidow.
