In depth

Verdict

Tracy Waggott's Whispered Times has shot up in the weights since winning a handicap over course and distance in June and probably needs some help from the handicapper, while the Michael Dods-trained Viking Warrior is going the right way and won his maiden at Redcar earlier this month well enough but he faces no easy task on his handicap debut off a mark of 70. Tim Easterby's Verluga has been running creditably well of late and has claims if handling the underfoot conditions which he may do being out of a Cadeaux Genereux mare. The ground is of no problem to Red Scintilla, who was a good second to Fair Bunny here over six furlongs on soft ground recently and he looks the main threat to the selection, WILLIAM MORGAN. Richard Fahey's gelding is a confirmed performer on testing going and can resume winning ways now back on a soft surface.
