In depth

Verdict

Gilnockie has been placed twice at Musselburgh and has place prospects again here. Calivigny was only beaten half-a-length over this trip at Ayr at the start of the month and won't be far away granted further improvement but Tomahawk Wood was beaten more than 20 lengths when second over 2m6f here last month. Winning pointer Lovely Job, Perseid and Redkalani are all interesting stepping up from bumpers but DAN EMMETT should take all the beating. A winning stayer on the Flat, he ran a cracker on his hurdling debut at Wetherby behind two previous winners and wouldn't need much more to land this with the extra half-mile in his favour.
