In depth

Verdict

Royal Flynn, Best of the Lot and Everest are the three to look at in this open handicap, with Royal Flynn set to follow up a success last time on ground he enjoys. Everest hasn't won in handicap company for almost two years, but as a consequence he has dropped down the handicap and he ran his best race for a long time when second at Carlisle a fortnight ago. He can go well again and reach the frame. Best of the Lot lost his maiden tag over this course and distance last time, and the handicapper has only lifted him a couple of pounds. He handles the ground, although the form of his win has taken a knock since. Royal Flynn won well at Haydock on Saturday, and given his preference for testing conditions that success, his second of the season, was no surprise. He has won over the course and distance, is on only a two pound higher mark, and can take this contest at a track wher ehe has previously been successful. Royal Flynn can score again.
