          Verdict

          Spinatrix scrambled home at Ripon last time but faces a stiffer task here off a 3lb higher mark. We'd rather concentrate on those at the foot of the handicap with Chester Aristocrat going on the short-list having run well again at Chester following victories at Haydock and Hamilton. Tarooq was in fine form earlier in the campaign and Trojan Rocket won at Windsor on his reappearance before finishing fifth at Newmarket. BABY STRANGE is a couple of pounds wrong in the weights but still very well treated on the pick of last year's form and Adam McLean takes off 7lb. Derek Shaw's grey showed he was no back number when fourth at Epsom on Derby Day and could be well drawn against the far rail. He gets the vote ahead of the consistent Fast Shot with Barracuda Boy looking the best of the three-year-olds.
