Yorkshire Blue has been running consistently well of late and is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of another old campaigner Ellens Academy, with Soto rated the best of the remainder. The selection had little chance from out of the weights proper at Hamilton last time but ran better than could have been expected in finishing a close third behind Bayeux. A reproduction of that effort, racing back off his proper mark, should suffice for Jim Goldie's gelding. Kool Ovation looks to be running into form and has to be considered but is creeping up the handicap as a result, while Dorn Dancer is probably a shade high in the weights at present. The 11-year-old Ellens Academy has been holding his form well and cannot be ruled out along with the consistent Soto but Yorkshire Blue has an obvious chance and he gets the vote.
