Verdict

Lightly weighted COMMAND MARSHAL can make a long trip up North count though he faces stern opposition in the face of Loom and Safin. Michael Scudamore's charge has only posted one success over hurdles thus far but the way in which he dotted up at Fontwell suggested that there could be more to come albeit at such lowly levels as these. Loom is David Pipe's only runner of the day at Newcastle. His owners will be hoping to recoup the travelling costs of the round trip from Devon. Safin is now with Sue Bradburne. He was in good form earlier in the year though disappointed badly in a Cartmel seller in August. Gobejolly also makes his first run for a new trainer and as ever, anything Tim Vaughan sends out has to be treated with the ultimate respect. Graze On And On has failed to build upon the promise of a Wetherby victory and was well held last time out at Southwell. Witness Run could potentially be thrown in on the basis of some of his form in hunter chases. The market is closely watched as a consequence. Lewis's World must have shown something at home for connections to bother paying out two years of training fees. Command Marshal is taken to land a race that will not take a great deal of winning.
