In depth

Verdict

PETTICOAT TAILS (NAP) could give trainer and jockey a quickfire double as she left her debut over hurdles well behind when beating a previous winner at Wetherby, though still needs to brush up her jumping – Hermanus is held on the form book. Donald McCain’s pair, Birch Vale and Chicago Lady, are running over timber for the first time but Brian Hughes rides the former, who has been placed in bumpers, so it’s safe to assume she’s the stable selection. Katy Royal is already looking exposed but Ayr third My Old Gold should be capable of better.
